Famous Vegan Drumsticks Wing Night
Crispy, saucy, snackable and perfect for sharing, Happy Veggie World Vegan Drumsticks make plant-based wing night easy. Bake them until hot and lightly crisp, toss them in your favourite vegan wing sauce, and serve with crunchy vegetables and creamy vegan dips.
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven
Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). For the best texture, make sure it is fully preheated before adding the drumsticks.
-
Prepare the drumsticks
Remove the frozen drumsticks from the packaging and place them in a single layer on a non-stick baking pan or parchment-lined sheet, leaving a little space between each piece. For extra crispness, lightly mist or brush them with a small amount of neutral oil.
-
Bake
Bake on the middle rack for 12 minutes. Flip the drumsticks, then bake for another 12 minutes, until hot throughout and lightly crisped on the outside.
-
Rest briefly
Let the drumsticks cool for 2 to 3 minutes. This helps the outside settle before saucing and makes them easier to handle.
-
Sauce the drumsticks
For saucier drumsticks, place the hot drumsticks in a large bowl, add warm vegan wing sauce and gently toss until coated. For a crisper finish, brush the sauce on instead of tossing.
-
Optional final set
For a stickier finish, return the sauced drumsticks to the baking sheet and bake for 2 to 3 more minutes. Do this only with sauces that handle heat, such as barbecue, teriyaki, gochujang BBQ or maple sriracha. For Buffalo-style sauces, toss or brush after baking and serve right away.
-
Serve
Serve immediately with vegan ranch, vegan blue cheese-style dip, celery, carrots, cucumber, plenty of napkins and extra sauce on the side.
Best sauces for wing night
Choose one or offer a few: classic vegan Buffalo, sweet chili, Korean-style gochujang BBQ, teriyaki glaze, lemon pepper vegan butter, maple sriracha, smoky vegan barbecue or garlic soy glaze.
Classic vegan Buffalo sauce
In a small pot or microwave-safe bowl, warm together ⅓ cup vinegar-based hot sauce, 3 tablespoons vegan butter, ½ teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon maple syrup (optional) and a pinch of black pepper. Whisk until smooth, then toss with the hot drumsticks right before serving.
Game night platter idea
Build a plant-based wing board with Vegan Drumsticks, two or three vegan wing sauces, vegan ranch, vegan blue cheese-style dip, celery, carrot and cucumber sticks, pickles, tortilla chips and extra napkins.
Make ahead: Bake the drumsticks just before serving for the best texture. If you are serving a group, bake them first and keep the sauces warm in small bowls, then sauce each batch right before it goes to the table so the outside stays as crisp as possible.
Keep it vegan: Use vegan sauces and dips to keep this fully plant-based. Happy Veggie World Vegan Drumsticks contain soy and wheat; check product packaging before preparing for guests with allergies or dietary restrictions.
